The Badass Wraparound is a high-quality bridge for guitars and basses, developed in 1972 by musician and innovator Glenn Quan.

Manufactured from high-density zinc alloy, it enhances attack, sustain, and tonal clarity. Originally designed as a direct replacement for Gibson's “Wraparound” bridge, it quickly gained fame for enabling precise string-by-string octave adjustment (intonation).

Favored by renowned guitarists like Jimmy Page, Malcolm Young, and Keith Richards, it became the “go-to bridge” for players seeking tone and tuning precision.

Upgraded with locking studs, it dramatically improves the performance of guitars like the Les Paul Junior, Les Paul Special, and Melody Maker.

弦高が高すぎて

Gibson Lespaul Specialにこれを載せてみました。確かに芯がしっかりありつつ抜けの良いサウンドになりましたが、弦高が高すぎてちょっと自分には扱えませんでした。そこで、Montreux custom wrap around bridge Chromeのサドルのみをこれと交換したところ、弦高問題は解決いたしました。しかし、ネジの長さがMontreuxのものとは違うためサドルの不安定感があることと、そもそもMontreux custom wrap around bridge Chromeのサドルも決して悪いものではないので、そこまでしてこのブリッジのサドルに拘る理由もなく、結局御蔵入りとなってしまいました。ただ唯一こちらのバダスタイプブリッジのサドルはMontreux製と違い予め弦溝が掘ってあり、溝掘り作業で失敗するリスクがないことはありがたいです。
