Entropic Doom elevates noise and tuned noise to an entirely new dimension. It features a dedicated noise oscillator—what we might call a “Noiserator.” While traditional modular synths have used white noise or pink noise, processed with envelopes and filters to create various effects, Entropic Doom takes modular noise generation into uncharted territory!
Equipped with a CMOS logic gate-based noise generator featuring coarse and fine adjustment capabilities. The noise loop incorporates built-in 2-pole, 3-pole, and 4-pole low-pass filters along with a passband resonator. It includes both audio and sync inputs, which can be mixed into the noise loop to further expand the range of generated sound variations. Bright noise and dark noise outputs are provided as pre-filtered and post-filtered options, respectively. However, since the noise and filters are connected in a feedback loop, the bright output also responds to the filter type and settings.
In addition to voltage-controllable CV inputs for frequency and resonance, it features a 1V/Oct input playable from keyboards or sequencers.
Furthermore, it incorporates an independent XOR ring modulator and a CMOS gate-controlled VCA submodule. These can be used independently of the noise generation circuitry or simultaneously.
