The TG Microphone is a solid-state/large-diaphragm condenser microphone developed jointly by Abbey Road Studios in the UK and Chandler Limited in the US.
[Sound Inherited from Abbey Road Studios' Legendary TG Console]
Developed in 1967 by Abbey Road engineers and EMI's technical team, the EMI TG12345 console brought flexibility and revolutionary changes to recording from 1968 onwards. This solid-state recording console featured a modular design with 12 dual-channel microphone cassettes, extensive EQ, and per-channel compressor/limiters.

Era-defining recordings such as The Beatles' final album, ""Abbey Road,"" Pink Floyd's ""The Dark Side of the Moon,"" and George Harrison's ""All Things Must Pass"" were recorded on this console.

The TG Microphone marks a new chapter in the legendary TG series. Following the success of the REDD Microphone, Abbey Road Studios and Chandler Limited have teamed up again to develop a new standard.

The sound is unmistakably ""TG,"" making this an extremely flexible microphone, rivaling applications traditionally dominated by the C414, FET47, U87, and U47.

[Two Sound Characters with the Dual Tone System]
The ""Dual Tone System"" modifies the TG Microphone's input stage, expanding the microphone's versatility.

""System A"" delivers the sound you've come to expect from the traditional TG series. It features rich overtones, a punchy sound, and a more forward-thinking character (color).

""System B"" delivers a cleaner, more uncolored sound. Furthermore, ""System B"" allows for a higher SPL, making it suitable for situations where a FET47 would typically be used, such as miking a kick drum, bass, or guitar cabinet. The level is reduced by 6 dB, and even higher SPL can be achieved by combining it with the PAD switch.

[Five-Level Response Characteristics with the EMI Tape Equalizer]
The ""EMI Tape Equalizer"" utilizes the NAB/IEC tape equalizer circuitry actually built into the vintage EMI TG12410 transfer/mastering console. Originally developed to compensate for differences between various tape playback standards, it's now used in the TG Microphone to modify the microphone's response characteristics.

Five positions (NAB/IEC 7.5, 15 ips, FLAT, and IEC/NAB 7.5, 15 ips) allow you to vary the response from a flat response to a combination of low and high frequency emphasis.

[Low Cut/PAD/Directivity Switch/Dedicated Power Supply]
Equipped with a low-cut filter switchable between 50Hz and 90Hz, it can be combined with the EMI Tape Equalizer to further add variety to your microphone sound.
Other features include a -10dB PAD switch and directivity switching (omni/cardioid).
