In the world of sound engineering, Harrison Audio founder Dave Harrison is known as a pioneer in the development of music production technology. Ironically, Harrison himself was once skeptical of compressors, echoing legendary producer/engineer Bruce Swedien's belief that ""music should be recorded as it is.""

However, in response to requests from the broadcasting industry for a tool to control volume and prevent clipping, Harrison Audio embarked on the development of a compressor. The resulting compressor provided transparent leveling with only a small amount of gain reduction (a few dB), making it particularly useful for sources with wide dynamics, such as vocals and guitars, and becoming an indispensable tool in music production.

Over time, this compressor's capabilities as a ""vibe"" compressor, adding character and saturation through deep application, have also become well-known. Harrison's initial skepticism led to the creation of a classic machine trusted not only in the broadcast industry but also in music production.

The Comp module is an incredibly flexible dynamics processor.
For example, with a 1:2 ratio and fast release setting, you can apply just 2-3 dB of compression to guitars and vocals for natural leveling, or you can set a stronger ratio and slower release for drums and bass to add a more intense, vibey compression effect.
