CONTROL PATH is an all-in-one voice dynamics module. It integrates all the dynamics modules needed to configure a synth voice into one low-cost, small, and easy-to-use module.

It has two analog envelopes with velocity CV and one VCA. In a typical voice patch, the left envelope controls the filter and the right envelope is used as the VCA for the voice. A velocity control is provided for each envelope, and a delay trimmer on the front panel is used to compensate for timing discrepancies between the incoming gate signal and the velocity CV.

The envelope CV output is 0-5V and the velocity CV input is 0-5V.



Velocity Trimmer Adjustments:.

Velocity works seamlessly with Octopus because we made sure that both the velocity CV signal and the gate signal are sent tightly synchronized. If the two signals are not synchronized (as some Eurorack modules are) and the velocity CV signal is delayed and arrives after the envelopes have already started, the velocity change will be heard as a click. There is a small trimmer at the bottom of each envelope to address this problem should it arise.

To adjust for this, use a continuous sequence of audible clicks (do not confuse natural clicks caused by sharp envelope attacks with clicks caused by intermittent waveforms) and turn the trimmer clockwise until the clicks diminish or disappear completely. But adding this correction creates a slight delay to “hide” the source problem.

The trimmer can be turned in both directions. When the maximum value is reached, the trimmer itself will begin to emit a clickety-click sound. Keep an eye on the sound from the unit to avoid over-rotating the trimmer, as over-rotation can cause wear and tear on the trimmer. To return the trimmer to its factory setting, turn it counterclockwise until the clickety-clack sound is heard again.
