The Gas Giant is a fuzz pedal with switchable tone control voicing options and a built-in noise gate. Inspired by the iconic transistor-based fuzz pedals manufactured in New York in the early 1970s, the Gas Giant utilizes a quad-matched transistor set, perfectly dialed in to a ""sweet spot"" that's hard to find in vintage pedals.

In addition to gain and volume knobs, the pedal features a dual-function tone control that delivers the traditional deep bass, scorching top end, and midrange scoop found in vintage pedals, as well as Pigtronix's signature midrange-forward bump setting. These two voicing options dramatically alter the Tone control's frequency response across its entire range, delivering massive fuzz tones in a compact, three-knob stompbox.

The Gas Giant's switchable noise gate uses a high-speed FET circuit to lock out the white noise that inevitably accompanies the massive gain that fuzz circuits deliver. Adapted from a design found in the PIGTRONIX/Gatekeeper and tuned specifically for this pedal, the Gas Giant's noise gate requires no external controls and is designed to work perfectly with a wide range of guitar pickups. The Gas Giant features true bypass switching, operates from a standard 9VDC power supply, and consumes less than 100mA of current, making it gentle on your pedalboard.
