The V846 Vintage is based on an early V864 with a wide sweep range, achieving a sound that allows the harmonics of the first string to cut through. Custom-made variable resistors and inductors, along with hand-selected capacitors, are used to achieve this vintage sound. A 3D scan of the original chassis also recreated the dimensions, feel, and impact on the sound.
