When you think of optical compressors, the first thing that comes to mind is none other than the old and unique Urei LA3A. Our goal was to create an optical compressor with such simplicity, capability and warmth, yet compact in size, and the result is the Zipper!

The Zipper MKII is a discreet and quiet optical compressor with plenty of headroom. Add power and punch to your sound without changing the tonal character. Carefully selected optical elements can automatically adjust attack and release depending on signal strength and amplitude. A dedicated toggle switch allows you to select between hard and soft compression ratios, with hard compression ratios of 10:1 and soft compression ratios of 4:1.
