The late 50's and early 60's were a transitional period that saw the introduction of many of the new features that made Precision Bass so iconic. In 1960, Precision Bass design shifted from Telecaster-style design elements to Stratocaster-style features such as a head shape, contouring, pickguard-mounted electronics, and a four-saddle bridge.
