MIDAS / HUB4 PRO

The DP48-compatible HUB4 PRO is a system hub that supplies PoE power to up to four personal mixers and provides high-quality 96kHz sound monitoring. Bidirectional communication via AES50, 16ch analog output, and StageCONNECT support provide flexible connectivity and expandability.

■Personal monitoring with DP48
Midas HUB4 PRO is a stage rack multi-tool that provides analog/digital output for a variety of applications. The HUB4 PRO provides PoE (Power over Ethernet) for up to four DP48 personal monitor mixers and can deliver 48 channels of 24-bit/48 kHz audio, or 2 x 24 channels of 96 kHz audio. The HUB4 PRO collects 48 channels of upstream audio and transmits this audio to the FOH console from the stage box connected to the AES50-B (THRU) port, or 8 return channels from each of ports 1-4.

■Cascading hub for large-scale setups
To meet the challenges of large-scale monitoring setups, the HUB4 PRO can be easily daisy-chained, making the DP48 port available for applications such as orchestras. HUB4 PRO, on the other hand, is also available if you want to connect additional I/O to your mixing console via the same AES50 link. To create this AES50 console link, a digital stage box like the Midas DL16 or DL32 can be connected to the HUB4's AES50 (THRU) port. The console can send downstream signals to each stage output, while simultaneously receiving 48 channels upstream from the stage inputs via HUB4 PRO.

■IEM transmitter analog output
The HUB4 PRO features 16 balanced line level outputs that allow you to connect 8 stereo mixes from a connected DP48 mixer to the side rack. This eliminates the need to run additional lines from the personal mixer to the transmitter, greatly reducing setup time and reliability. These analog outputs can also be used as auxiliary outputs on stage, such as talkback or side fill outputs, which receive signals directly from the FOH console.

■Support from Midas M32 series consoles
The HUB4 PRO can transmit control messages from the M32 FOH console to the DP48 personal mixer, as well as remote control messages between DP48 units. The Midas DP48 Personal Monitor Mixer supports remote control of other DP48 units and can also receive control information from the M32 mixing console. The M32's control information, including channel assignments, names, colors, etc., is transmitted via AES50, making it easy to set up your personal mixer. HUB4 PRO allows control messages to be passed from the FOH console to and between personal mixers. This control message system works when the DP48 unit is connected to ports 1-4 or to ports on a daisy-chained hub.

■Midas DL8 PoE (Power over Ethernet) compatible stage box
HUB4 PRO can easily be connected to Midas' new stage box DL8. The DL8 stage box connects to any of the HUB4 PRO's ports 1-4 using a simple CAT5e STP cable. This cable connection from HUB4 PRO can directly power up to 4 stage boxes via PoE support (IEEE802.3at per port), allowing for shorter analog lines on stage.
