Create your own beat!
Nektar ARUBA is a powerful tool for beatmaking and performance. Featuring 16 ultra-sensitive RGB-illuminated pads, a step sequencer, a pad repeat engine, and incredible plug-in control, it brings an exciting drum machine-style workflow to any DAW or external MIDI setup.

The included Nektarine software turns ARUBA into a complete beatmaking solution. Use your favorite drum instrument plug-in (VST/VST3 or AU) or create your own beats with the included DP-1 drum player, K1 kick, S1 snare, and T1 tom synth!


Pad repeat
ARUBA is also equipped with a pad repeat engine. It produces rolls and percussive lines that are difficult to play by hand. This feature is instantly accessible with a dedicated on/off button and settings menu, and includes a wealth of real-time parameters to control groove and speed. Customize quickly with 8 pots.

Other parameters include gate, accent interval, accent velocity offset, swing, trigger mode, and clock source.

Nektarine
Of course, it's not a bad idea to simply load an instrument plug-in into a DAW track and play it. But you can have even more fun by combining multiple samples and plug-ins to create unique kits and sounds within Nektarine. You can create kits by combining up to 16 instrument plug-ins, 64 insert FX plug-ins, and even 4 send FX in a single Nektarine instance (Nektarine hosts VST, VST3, and AU plug-ins with total recall).

Just launch Nektarine on your VST, VST3, AU, or AAX-compatible DAW and call up the plugin, and you'll have direct access to plugins installed from your ARUBA hardware! You can also import patches for each instrument into Nektarine's powerful database (for some instrument plug-ins you can download and import patch lists provided by Nektar). Additionally, you can also play samples with the newly developed DP-1 drum player.

Nektarine also works as a standalone application, so if you're performing live or want to sequence ARUBA in a drum machine style, make sure to use it.

Control your DAW
Take advantage of ARUBA's deep DAW integration capabilities!

ARUBA can be used with any MIDI software, but when paired with a DAW supported by Nektar's DAW integration software, you can select tracks, navigate projects, and control expanded transport functions directly from the hardware.

With this integration software, everything is pre-mapped so you don't have to worry about setup. After installation is complete, a dedicated [DAW] button will be enabled and assigned the ARUBA surface, allowing you to smoothly control compatible DAWs. The seven transport buttons are MIDI assignable, including MMC commands, so they can also be used for transport control in software not supported by Nektar DAW integration.

Currently, Nektar DAW integration software for ARUBA supports Ableton Live Suite, Bitwig, Cakewalk, Cubase, Digital Performer, Garageband, Logic Pro, Nuendo, Reaper, Reason, and Studio One.
