Blue Note Select is ""V2"" of our favorite circuits. The original Blue Note Pro series was the first to include a ""hot"" switch, and then they introduced the Tour series without a ""hot"" switch.

Not only does the Blue Note Select include a ""hot"" switch, but it also has a vastly improved look, sound, and overall feel, all in a much smaller package. We achieved the electric blue you see by creating custom knobs and mixing custom colors. The biggest improvement so far is the low end, both with and without ""Hot Mode"" on. This might be our best low gain drive.
Low gain pedals can be tricky because they blur the line between boost and drive.
If you use Blue Note Select or any other low gain drive pedal, we recommend adjusting it to suit your amp. The downside of the pedal is that it can introduce a clean note below the overdrive, giving it an unnatural drive sound.
I've found that once the amp is just above the minimum edge of breakup or ""bracing,"" I get the best results by adding a bit of overdrive to go above it.
Blue Note Select lets you add subtle OD or make internal clipping pretty hot. In any case, a gain structure where the amp starts bracing will improve the OD sound.
The secret to the Blue Note Select is that it has two gain structures, offering a wide range of drive so you can change the type of amplifier you use. I use the Blue Note Select to really push the Marshall Plexi because it allows me to tweak the bottom end to match.
You can get a variety of sounds with a very simple setup, so give it a try.
The best compliment we've received about the Blue Note Select is that you can't tell you're using the pedal.
