MXR ROCKMAN X100 ANALOG TONE PROCESSOR. Reproduce the sound of the ROCKMAN X100, which was all the rage in the 80's, with a pedal type.
The original Rockman X100 was designed in the 1980s by hard rock band Boston guitarist and engineering doctor Tom Scholz, and became a revolutionary portable guitar amp simulator/headphone amp that took the world by storm.
At that time, Tom founded his own company, Scholz Research & Development (SR&D), in pursuit of the ideal guitar sound, and continued to bring innovative guitar tools to the world.
Among them, the X100 has received high praise as a versatile model that is equipped with a distinctive drive sound and transparent chorus effect, and can also be input directly to a recording console. More than just a headphone amplifier, its performance was highly praised as a recording tool.
The MXR ROCKMAN X100 ANALOG TONE PROCESSOR is a pedal that condenses all of the sound of the original X100 into a compact pedal.
Currently, with the help of veteran MXR engineer and SR&D veteran Bob Cedro, we have succeeded in faithfully reproducing crisp harmonic-rich distortion, crystal clear clean sound, and chorus sound reminiscent of arena rock at the time.
The MXR X100 is completely analog and features four presets: CLN1, CLN2, Edge, and Distortion, faithfully recreating the sound of the original X100.
Furthermore, the distinctive chorus effect uses the MN3007 BBD (Bucket Brigade Device) chip, perfectly reproducing ROCKMAN's unique chorus sound.
RE-COMPRESSED
A key element in the original X100's sound was a special compression circuit that kept the sound clear, whether clean or distorted. MXR
MODED OUT
Like the original, it features four presets selectable with the MODE button.
There are two types of clean modes: ""CLN1"" mode provides a punchy sound that focuses on the midrange, and ""CLN2"" mode provides a transparent and beautiful sound.
""Edge"" mode features a crunch sound with moderate clipping, and is sensitive to picking touch and input gain. ""Distortion"" mode provides sustain and drive sound perfect for lead playing.
ON THE LEVEL
Completely reproduces the original and uses slider types for VOLUME and INPUT GAIN.
INPUT GAIN adjusts the input level and sets the gain for the MXR X100's four modes. Especially in ""Edge"" mode, you can create a wide range of sounds from crunch to distortion by setting the input level.
VOLUME adjusts the output level of the pedal.
THE BUCKET BRIGADE
Powered by the classic MN3007 BBD chip, just like the original. With the MXR X100, you can easily create a pleasant, expansive stereo chorus known as the ROCKMAN sound by simply pressing the Chorus button.
DIG DEEPER
You can switch modes using external pedals such as the MXR? M199 TAP TEMPO or MXR? M231 TSR Split + Tap. Additionally, you can select monaural/stereo output using the switch inside the pedal. The stereo output allows you to get a spacious and dynamic chorus sound.
ARENA ROCK IN A BOX
The MXR ROCKMAN X100 ANALOG TONE PROCESSOR condenses all the original ROCKMAN sounds into a compact pedal.
It has been revived as the best gear that can easily reproduce the powerful guitar sound of 80's arena rock.
