In 2015, the legendary pedal ""Smoggy Overdrive"" was born by Mr. Yoshida of Y.O.S. Guitar Studio. Although the 3 Knob is an orthodox style overdrive, it still reigns as a unique pedal due to its delicate sound tuning.

I, Kitada of KarDiaN, feel that everything about Smoggy Overdrive is contained in this presence area, which is slightly deeper than the high range, but not too high to be harsh. Even when the Tone knob is turned down, the overdrive that leaves a unique high-frequency gap and touch can be rightly called a smoggy sound similar to ""Ibushi Gin"".

More and more musicians are using this pedal all the time, as it gives a natural smoggy sound. This is a reputation that even bassists who are bothered by preamplifiers are captivated by. So, together with Kitada, the main designer of KarDiaN, and Mr. Yoshida of Y.O.S. Guitar Studio, the creator of this pedal, we took on the challenge of developing a Smoggy Overdrive that can be built directly into the instrument body...the so-called ""Smoggy Onboard"".

""Smoggy Onboard"" is a new product in the Smoggy series and character module series that officially inherits the DNA of Smoggy Overdrive. Development began with Mr. Yoshida of Y.O.S. Guitar Studio leaving the adjustment of the Smoggy Overdrive's delicate sound tuning intact to the guitar body. The distortion and tone, which are the fundamentals of the sound, have been adjusted to fit within the variable range required for onboard guitars, resulting in a product optimized for mounting on the guitar itself. ""Smoggy Onboard"" was completed by combining KarDiaN's excellent design and S/N ratio of this character module series with the sound tuning of Mr. Y.O.S. Guitar Studio Yoshida.

- CHARACTER MODULE SERIES -
Character module series (hereinafter referred to as CMS), which is the backbone of ""Smoggy Onboard"", is characterized by its ""built-in battery mechanism"" and ""socket exchange"". Thanks to this small casing, a 9V battery, so-called 006P type battery (approx. 50 x 26 mm) can be stored by simply installing the CMS. Furthermore, this ""Smoggy Onboard"" can be replaced with another CMS product using a socket without any additional processing.

You can experience a new performance called character module without modifying your precious guitar as much as possible.
