The Epiphone Les Paul Standard 50s is a representative of the Epiphone ""Inspired by Gibson"" collection. The feel and tone of a 1950's Les Paul is perfectly recreated.
Epiphone and Les Paul (great guitarist, musician, and inventor!!) have had a long friendship dating back to 1940. The young Les Paul worked on prototypes night after night at the Epiphone workshop in Manhattan, and created ""the Log,"" which is said to be one of the world's first solid-body electric guitars. The results of ""the Log"" were later reflected in the development and birth of the Les Paul model, which is still coveted by many guitar players today as the best electric guitar.
The top of the body is made of maple, and the 1959 round medium C-shaped neck is wrapped with binding and joined to the body using the long neck tenon method. The laurel fingerboard has a classic dish inlay and features 22 medium jumbo frets. The Kalamazoo headstock is equipped with a vintage deluxe tuner, and the electronics feature two well-established Probucker humbucker pickups and gold top hat knobs with dial pointers. Its attractiveness is further enhanced by its detailed specifications, such as the Graph Tech nut, CTS pot, and wiring that follows the manufacturing methods of the past. Comes with an Epiphone premium gig bag.
