The OCD is a very open sounding overdrive/distortion circuit that is quite different to typical overdrives in that it uses a mosfet for clipping and the clipping is connected to the circuit's voltage reference (vref) rather than ground.

The result is a more interactive sound, whether you pick softly or hard, compared to traditional "diode-to-ground" clipping overdrives. The OCD offers touch sensitivity, nuance, and complex harmonics while preserving the inherent tone of the amp and guitar you are playing. Because of its enormous output, the OCD is a great pedal to use as an overdrive in front of an amp, or through a master volume amp to drive it much harder than other ODs, but it also excels at creating its own distortion with the complex harmonic array of a class A amp. Another great attraction is that you can access sounds in between by simply turning down the volume control on your guitar.

■Controls
・Volume: Adjusts the volume.
・Drive: Turn clockwise for more distortion, or keep it below 10 o'clock for a cleaner sound or to boost the input of your amp without changing the basic tone.

・Tone: Turn counterclockwise for a smoother high-gain lead sound (with the Drive knob set above 12 o'clock), and clockwise for more cut and less compression.

・HP/LP Switch: Set to HP (High Peak) for more bottom end, more distortion across the full range of the Drive knob, more volume, and a slight increase in the upper mids (around 3.5Khz) for a more "British" feel. Set to LP (Low Peak) for a sound that is extremely faithful to the original sound of your guitar and amp! Perfect for clean boosting, cranked blackface or tweed styles, or when you're not looking for a British type sound.

・ON/OFF Footswitch: Switch to turn on/off.

■INPUT: 1/4" standard mono phone input jack
■OUTPUT: 1/4" standard mono phone output jack
■DC INPUT: Operates on a high-quality, stabilized 9 to 18VDC center negative power supply with a 2.1mm x 5.5mm plug.
■BATTERY: Can also be powered by a 9 volt battery (006P battery). To replace the battery, unscrew the screws on the left and right sides of the housing, separate the top and bottom of the pedal, and replace the battery.
