D'Angelico / Excel Style B Amber

The Excel Style B Amber is an original shape archtop hollow body model that is 17 inches (431.8 mm) wide and 3 inches (76.2 mm) thick.

The original pickguard, which is characteristic of D'Angelico, is designed to resemble a part of an f-hole and has a 5-ply tortoise shell pattern.
The body, headstock and neck are decorated with binding, and the design, combined with the mother-of-pearl split block position markers, gives a chic and gorgeous impression.
The body top is spruce, and the sides and back are flame maple. The neck is a three-piece structure (maple/walnut/maple) with walnut sandwiched between maple, which is resistant to warping and twisting, and uses an ebony fingerboard and a 24.75-inch (628.65 mm) scale.
It also has a dual action truss rod that is adjusted on the head side.
The distinctive throwback-shaped headstock design continues the tradition of D'Angelico.
The truss rod cover is made of aluminum, and its striking design is inspired by the skyscrapers of New York City, where Art Deco architecture (such as the Empire State Building) was popular around 1930.
The pickup is a fingerboard-mounted floating single coil, DeArmond's Rhythm Chief 1000, which was installed in D'Angelico's Type B from the 1930s to 1940s.
There is one volume and one tone control. The hardware is all gold, and it features reliable Grover Imperial machine heads, an ebony bridge and stair step tailpiece.
The color is gloss amber.
A hard case is included.
