D'Angelico / Premier Brighton Black Flake

The Premier Brighton Black Flake is a model with an original 13.25-inch (336.55 mm) wide double cutaway shape and two humbucker pickups using an escutcheon.

The original pickguard, which has a distinctive D'Angelico shape, is cream pearl in color and has a design reminiscent of a part of the f-hole.
The body top, headstock and neck are decorated with binding, which is combined with mother-of-pearl block position markers.
The body material is basswood, with wood materials such as a maple neck and an ovangkol fingerboard.
The neck finish is satin, with a 24.75-inch (628.65 mm) scale, and the neck joint has a unique heelless design. By reaching the back of the body (a position that covers the entire front pickup) like a through-neck, the joint area is widened, making it a "set-through" neck joint that combines playability at high frets with strength.
In addition, it is equipped with a dual action truss rod that is adjusted on the head side.
The distinctive headstock design inherits the tradition of D'Angelico.
The truss rod cover is made of aluminum, and its striking design is inspired by the skyscrapers of New York City, where Art Deco architecture (such as the Empire State Building) was popular around 1930.
The pickups are equipped with two metal-covered Seymour Duncan-designed HB-102 humbucker (neck) and HB-101 humbucker (bridge).
The controls are a 2-volume, 2-tone, 3-way pickup selector layout, and each pickup's tone also doubles as a coil split push-pull switch, for a total of eight coil combinations.
The hardware is unified in chrome, and the guitar features Grover's Super Rotomatic, Tune-O-Matic & Stop Bar Tailpiece, which provides stable tuning.
The body has a gloss finish and a black flake color.
