The Jackson X Series Soloist SL1A DX is a double cutaway design guitar equipped with the versatile features demanded by today's modern thrashers. The ergonomically designed poplar body features a maple-through neck with scarf joints and built-in graphite reinforcement rods, and the 12- to 16-inch compound-radius bound laurel fingerboard with 24 jumbo frets is gradually flattened from the nut to the high position. The bound laurel fingerboard features 24 jumbo frets and a 12- to 16-inch compound radius that flattens out gradually from the nut to the high position, allowing for comfortable playing, from chord playing to solo playing, throughout the length of the neck.

The Jackson high-output bridge humbuckers and rail-style neck pickup produce a full-bodied tone with crunch, and the 3-way blade pickup switch and controls (1 volume, 1 tone) allow for a wide range of sound creation from aggressive rhythm playing to lead playing. A Floyd Rose Special double-locking tremolo provides robust tuning stability even under the most aggressive arming.
