The G5420T Electromatic Classic Hollow Body Single-Cut with Bigsby has a vintage guitar-inspired look with a sleek arch construction and trestle block bracing that suppresses feedback. It features a laminated maple body. The trestle block design improves the rigidity and contact efficiency of the body top and back, resulting in increased sonic clarity, crispness, and sustain, and a faster attack. The FT-5E Filter'Tron pickups further accentuate the punch, classic sparkle, presence, clarity, and definition of the full-bodied sound.

The newly designed “C” shape maple neck with 12” radius laurel fingerboard is comfortable to play and improves playability and performance.

The control section features a variety of upgrades, including master volume with treble bleed circuit, master tone, volume control for each pickup, and a 3-position pickup toggle switch. Other features include bound oversize f-holes, multi-ply body binding, smaller late-50s G6120-bound headstock, vintage-style open-back tuning machines, Graph Tech NuBone nut, pearloid Neo- Classic thumbnail inlays, fixed Adjusto-Matic bridge, and Bigsby B60 vibrato tailpiece.
