Road-tested by legendary guitarist Eddie Van Halen in arenas around the world, the Wolfgang Special is a true musical thoroughbred with its stunning style, dynamic sound, and specifications to withstand that high-speed playing.

The Wolfgang Special features an arched-top basswood body and a bolt-on quarter-sawn maple neck reinforced with sturdy graphite and hand-finished with a urethane back finish that matches Eddie Van Halen's stoic specifications. The instrument features a bolt-on quarter-sawn maple neck. A 12"-16" compound radius ebony fingerboard for energetic riffs and lead notes features 22 jumbo frets and pearloid dot inlays. A spoke wheel on the neck end allows for easy truss rod adjustment.

Two custom-designed EVH Wolfgang Alnico 2 humbuckers are mounted directly to the body and provide dynamic yet articulate voicings as well as rich sustain for strong chord playing and supporting melody lines. A sturdy and reliable EVH-brand Floyd Rose locking tremolo and Floyd Rose locking nut combine to maintain accurate tuning even with extreme arm playing. The bridge is also equipped with a convenient EVH D-Tuna that instantly switches to drop-D tuning. The 500K EVH Bourns Low Friction Pot on the volume knob with treble bleed circuit allows for smooth volume operation, while the 250K EVH Bourns High Friction Pot on the tone control knob prevents accidental tone shift.
