Most conventional external expression pedals only control the parameters of the effects pedal. Therefore, changing the state or function of an effects pedal requires the use of a switch on the effects pedal; the Ampero II Press has a footswitch, which solves this problem completely. The footswitch construction has also been optimised to provide excellent tactile switching to the foot. Designed with passive circuitry, it is reliable and convenient, requiring no power supply. Effects pedals' built-in footswitches usually use rubber pads to simulate a footswitch, which does not provide a secure switching feel.
The Ampero II Press, on the other hand, uses footswitches that emit a unique ‘click’, ensuring that you can feel the pedal switching while performing on stage.
