・Mix: Adjusts the balance between the wet and dry signals.
・Depth: Adjusts the depth of the sound with the effect.
・Voice: This knob gives you access to almost all chorus sounds. It works by adjusting the delay time. The delay time determines the tone, flavor, and sound of the chorus effect. A shorter delay time produces a natural and refreshing chorus, while a longer delay time produces a more harsh sound, as well as a pulsating sound. Empress Deus Chorus has a delay time range that covers extreme settings. The most extreme settings produce noise (mainly in the last third of the range). You may hear a crackling sound when turning the Voice knob, but this is normal due to the DC bias adjustment of the BBD chip.

・Velocity: Adjusts the speed of the chorus sweep.

・V/C switch: Switches between vibrato and chorus. In vibrato mode, the Voice knob adjusts the range and behavior of the pitch shift.

・Color switch: Switches the brightness of the chorus. Bright mode provides a sparkling tone, while dark mode provides a warm tone of classic chorus. If the Voice setting produces hissing noise, the bright mode will produce more noise.

・Internal slide switch: Empress Deus Chorus has two input stages, and the internal slide switch sets one of them. The factory setting is set to the higher gain input stage. The sound response is slightly different, so set it to your favorite one.
・Footswitch: Empress Deus Chorus is a true bypass switch.

・Stereo out: Empress Deus Chorus supports stereo output. Try using two amplifiers and standing between them to play. One stereo out will be dry and the other will be wet, and they will mix in the space to create a chorus. Of course, you can also use it as a general mono chorus.

・Power supply: It runs on a standard center negative DC9V adapter. 25mA or more is required for comfortable operation. It supports voltages up to 15V, and increasing the voltage increases the headroom.
