■The Red Special, Brian May's main guitar for over 30 years, has finally been recreated as a high-cost performance model! The pickup wiring that gives it its unique tone has also been faithfully reproduced. The pickup wiring is the same as the original, with each pickup on/off switch, and the phase slide switch allows you to get a wide variety of tones. Of course, like the original, the body has a chambered structure with a hollowed-out interior. The warm, fat sound you get from the mahogany body and neck, and ebony fingerboard, is knockout!

“About 40 years ago, the main reason was that I couldn't afford a good electric guitar, but I also enjoyed the challenge, so I decided to start making electric guitars with my dad. I started with the design, with the single-minded goal of making a guitar that was better than any other guitar that existed. It's a guitar with a wide range of pitch and sound, and a tremolo with stable tuning that makes it easy to play with intense feedback. Ironically, in the past, electric guitars were designed so that they wouldn't cause feedback. That was overturned by the hands of Jeff Beck, Pete Townshend, and Jimi Hendrix.
My father had the technical knowledge and skills, so my dream came true. The “Red Special” that I still use today was made from wood that had been used in a fireplace 200 years ago, and it took two years to complete. It is a part of me that has traveled the world with Queen, and has completed 30 years of concert and studio work.
Replicas of the Red Special have been produced by major guitar manufacturers such as Guild Guitars in the USA and Burns Guitars in the UK, but I have finally launched BRIAN MAY GUITARS with Barry Moorhouse of House Music and Pete Malandrone, who has been my teacher for many years have set up BRIAN MAY GUITARS with Pete Malandrone, who has been teaching me for many years. BRIAN MAY GUITARS Our goal is to deliver the best quality at an affordable price, with a special sound and feel that many people can enjoy.
