SUBDECAY / Prometheus 3

Subdecay Prometheus 3 is a functional filter pedal that can be used with a variety of sounds created by a filter designed to be inspired by the legendary synthesizer “MS-20”. Prometheus 3 can store 11 user presets, and there are also 121 factory presets that can be used as a starting point for creating presets or enjoyed as they are.

It's a lot of work to set up a wide variety of parameters from scratch. That's why Prometheus 3 comes with 121 factory presets. Switch to BANK mode and use PRESET and SELECT to access the 11 banks x 11 factory presets. Find the sound you like and freely edit it as a starting point for your sound creation.

Each bank has its own set of parameters assigned to the knobs, allowing you to operate the unit intuitively. For example, the parameter knobs for the envelope filter bank are assigned to the envelope depth, filter cutoff, and resonance. For the LFO filter bank, the knobs are assigned to the modulation depth, filter cutoff, and resonance.

●Auto Set
In the edit mode, there is an Auto Set parameter that can be selected using the SELECT knob. These do not control their own parameters, but instead set preset values for each parameter. This allows you to create sounds more quickly.
Auto Set 0 returns the preset to its original settings before editing. Setting Auto Set to 1 will return the settings to the default or function OFF settings. Turning the SELECT knob higher will result in more extreme settings.

●Oscillating Filters
When the resonance is set to maximum, both the high-pass and low-pass filters oscillate. When the pre-filter gain is high, the oscillation of the guitar and filter interact to create a chaotic fuzz sound.
You might think that it can only be used as a gimmick and is really only for experimentation. It is true that it is annoying to have the oscillation continue when you are not playing. Prometheus 3 has a noise gate that can cut off all output when you are not playing, or limit the filter resonance.

●Beyond the envelope filter
Prometheus 3 has a variety of options that go beyond many filter pedals. It is easy to start making sounds, and it creates funky tones. There is also a random sample hold filter. There are groovy waveforms, and there is also a controllable oscillation robot.
