The KENTON Electronics MIDI USB HOST Mk3 is a convenient converter that connects to the USB jack of a keyboard or controller equipped only with a USB jack and converts the USB jack to MIDI IN / OUT.

The MIDI USB HOST Mk3 is a convenient converter to connect a keyboard or controller equipped only with a USB port to a keyboard or controller equipped only with a USB port and convert the USB port to MIDI IN / OUT without the use of a computer. The MIDI USB HOST Mk3 converts such USB-only keyboards and controllers to MIDI IN / OUT and vice versa for direct use with other MIDI devices without the need for a computer.

The MIDI USB Host Mk3 works only with USB/MIDI devices that support so-called “MIDI class compliance,” which means that no drivers are required when using it with a computer.

Please refer to the instruction manual of the USB/MIDI device to be connected or contact the manufacturer to check if the device is class-compliant.

Before connecting the MIDI USB HOST Mk 3, first connect the USB device directly to the computer and check the generic driver settings on the computer. At this time, make sure that the connected USB device is recognized as a MIDI Class Compliant device.

Convenient Mode Switching Function
In addition to the existing Standard mode, two Merge modes have been added for a wider range of applications. Simply press the MODE switch on the main unit to switch between modes at any time.

Standard mode (LED green - GREEN)
MIDI data received at MIDI IN is sent to a USB device, and MIDI data generated by the USB device is output from MIDI OUT.

Merge1 mode (LED orange - AMBER)
MIDI data received at MIDI IN is not sent to the USB device, but is merged with MIDI data generated by the USB device and output from MIDI OUT.

Merge2 mode (LED red - RED)
MIDI data received at MIDI IN is sent to a USB device, merged with MIDI data generated by the USB device, and output from MIDI OUT.

Up to 4 USB devices can be connected by using a USB hub
Using a general-purpose USB hub (sold separately), up to four USB devices can be used at the same time.

Connect a USB MIDI keyboard and controller to the synthesizer simultaneously.
Connect four USB MIDI keyboards to a multitimbral synthesizer simultaneously, with a separate keyboard for each channel
Connect four USB MIDI controllers simultaneously to a hardware synthesizer with a vast array of parameters for full editing.
