The KENTON Electronics SYNC-5 (Sync Five) is a splitter box that distributes the “DIN SYNC (SYNC24)” signal, which was the standard for tempo synchronization before the advent of MIDI, to five channels. It allows multiple vintage rhythm machines, basslines, and sequencers to be tempo-synchronized and played simultaneously, a feature that has not faded over the years.
The main unit features a sturdy aluminum housing with a beautiful hairline finish. The AC adapter is used for power supply, eliminating the need to worry about running out of battery power and ensuring stable operation. The Active LED on the back of the main unit lights up when the power is turned on, and the LED blinks when the SYNC signal is received.
Features
Synchronized performance with multiple vintage rhythm machines and sequencers
SYNC-5 is a splitter for DIN SYNC (SYNC24).
SYNC-5 is designed for use with Roland products (24 clocks per quarter note); it can also be used with Korg products (48 clocks per quarter note), but does not have the ability to convert between these different resolutions.
DIN SYNC uses all five pins of the cable, so if you use a low-cost MIDI cable with some of the pins not connected in the cable, it may not work properly.
