The “JIMS 800 PREAMP” is a 2-channel preamp that uses AMPWORX modeling technology to reproduce the sound of a traditional tube combo amp. It is equipped with independent channel control, pre/post boost, and DI/headphone output.

ようやくたどり着いたサウンド

楽器店で試奏した改造ハイゲインJCM800のサウンドが忘れられず、でも真空管は維持メンテナンスが面倒。ソリッドであの音色を目指しましたがエフェクターでは納得できる音をなかなか出せず。。買っては売るの繰り返しに疲れた頃、プリアンプのこいつを見つけました。YouTubeで検索して散々音色を確かめて、プラス補正された録音環境を差っ引いても狙いに近い音が出せんるんじゃないかと人柱覚悟で購入。やっと納得のあの音が手元に。いつまでも何時間でも誰か止めてくれるまで弾いていられます。初代FFでエクスカリバーを手に入れた時と同じあの感動！、とはいえ活かすか殺すかはエフェクターもプリアンプも環境次第。自宅は田舎なので多少の大音量は許されますが、JIMS800→GPA100パワーアンプ→Marshall MX112キャビネットこんな感じの簡素な安価セットで不満なく楽しめています。
