Pianoverse is a virtual instrument that not only reproduces the world's finest concert-grade pianos in their entirety, but also includes a built-in spatial generator that produces moving, cinematic sounds. It can be used in any situation where piano sound is required, from classical concerts to blockbuster movie soundtracks to live jazz performances.

Pianoverse can be used as a stand-alone instrument or as a plug-in (plug-in) on your Mac/PC. Pianoverse is available as a standalone application or as a plug-in (AAX/AU/VST) on Mac/PC.

Pianoverse is a new piano instrument that combines the finest piano samples, recorded using IK Multimedia's proprietary high-precision sampling robot, with a state-of-the-art engine to deliver unprecedented tonal realism and a natural playing feel. With a built-in spatial generator that creates cinematic sounds from the studio and concert hall to planets, icebergs, and more, Pianovers can also be used as a piano-based sound design tool.

## The best pianos, recorded with the best technology

The development of Pianoverse took several years. Procurement of pianos in the best condition. Tuning by an expert tuner. The search for the best microphone setup. Pianoverse is the result of an exhaustive process.

## High-precision robot-assisted sampling

Each live piano has its own character, and each behaves and reacts uniquely to the performance. Each piano and each key has its own dynamic curve and responds differently to changes in velocity.

Conventional sampling requires programming to equalize samples recorded with varying touch, but Pianoverse uses a robot that strikes keys at the optimal velocity stage for each piano and keyboard. The sampling robot was designed to record samples with high definition and consistency.

The design of the sampling robot required advanced hardware technology, proprietary software technology, and craftsmanship in between. The robot consists of a very precise and quiet linear motor and an elastic actuator made from a combination of rubber and 3D printed parts. The actuators are decoupled from the motors so that mechanical vibrations are not transmitted to the robot as it strikes keys, simulating the delicate touch of a human finger from attack to release.

Signals from the sampling robot and microphones are connected to a computer in the control room. There, proprietary recording software links each sample to information such as velocity, which is set to capture the heart of each piano's unique sound.

The result is a highly detailed and accurate sample across the full range of keys and dynamics of each piano. Since there is no need to flatten or simplify uneven human performance through programming, the result is a piano sound source that can realistically reproduce natural strength and weakness expressions as they are.

## State-of-the-art engine to take advantage of the power of expression

IK Multimedia's sound design team brought thousands of samples to life using sensitive techniques developed over 20 years of virtual instrument development, The new instrument engine developed for Pianoverse uses completely redesigned techniques such as round-robin, voice management, and more to create a performance experience that responds just like a live instrument.

## Tunable to the music and the tone you want

Pianoverse features fine-tuned performance controls to optimize the sound to the song and the desired tone. Settings such as release, hammer noise, pedal noise, string resonance, lid opening and closing, and tonal brightness and darkness can be adjusted, settings previously thought possible only with physical modeling instruments. Velocity offset and curves can also be adjusted.

Pianoverse provides an optimal piano sound and feel for classical, jazz, pop, Latin, and other genres.

## Studio Class Sound Shaping

Pianoverse offers two sets of stereo microphones per piano, allowing you to create the sound you envision, whether you want a modern, near-performer sound or a more classical sound.

All the essential studio tools for sound shaping and mixing are also available. Instrument and room pair mics offer EQ and comp, each with multiple modes. The final master channel offers EQ, a VCA-style limiter, WIDTH for adjusting stereo imaging, and a FLIP switch for switching between player and audience perspectives.

## Innovative spatial generator

Pianoverse is more than just a sound source that reproduces a realistic piano; Pianoverse includes a spatial generator with a newly developed generative reverberation engine that allows you to place a precisely reproduced realistic piano in a total of 30 different virtual spaces. You can choose from performance spaces such as concert halls, studios, clubs, and churches, as well as warehouses, vaults, icebergs, deserts, and even Mars. By selecting a space and adjusting the amount of resonance with the SPACE knob, you can achieve a more effective sound in less time than with other reverb plug-ins by trial and error.

Some SPACEs allow you to use additional controls to further alter the resonance of the space, creating cinematic sounds and textures unlike anything you have ever heard before. Immersive and inspiring sound design options make Pianoverse a sound design tool for creating innovative ambient timbres never before heard.
