ABSOLUTE DESTRUCTION is the ultimate fuzz/octave/destroyer acoustic melter.
The two slider controls on the ABSOLUTE DESTRUCTION react to each other in mysterious and inexplicable ways.
They open the door to countless tone variations, including octave fuzz, extreme metal tones, and evil distortion. The pedal's ‘secret’ is its special, creative, and completely destroyed sound.
The circuit of ABSOLUTE DESTRUCTION shuts down when excessive input is applied, and then comes back when the signal becomes weak and can be recognised slightly. It is as if it goes around hell and returns to the output.
The most insane noise/fuzz pedal in the DBA (Death By Audio) lineup.
The ‘GAIN’ slider is pushed all the way up to maximum gain. If you don't move the ‘OVERLOAD’ slider, you'll get a violent, noisy, ultra-gain fuzz sound. A noisy fuzz tone from Brooklyn.
The ‘OVERLOAD’ slider provides extreme, impossible-to-control control. It creates sounds for ‘unbelievable’ and ‘octave discomfort’. The guitar sound exceeds the gain and becomes ‘strained’, losing control. The unrestrained guitar sound loses its attack (the rise of the sound), and there is a gate and delay in the picking and actual sound. As you turn up the ‘OVERLOAD’ slider, the sound becomes like a gate fuzz effect that is being suppressed the moment you play the guitar, and if you turn it up even more, the picking attack becomes completely silent, and after a short time the noisy fuzz sound comes back to life like a zombie. I've never seen or heard of a function like this on an effects pedal. It's also great for effecting drum machines and beat material.
The position of the GAIN and OVERLOAD sliders relative to each other changes the fuzz gate and character, so you can experiment to your heart's content with a variety of crazy noise fuzz sounds.
■Controls
Master Volume: Effect output volume knob
Overload: This is the pedal's overload control. When the slider is at the maximum position, there is no overload and the attack is a normal roaring fuzz sound, but as you move the slider, an ominous gate and attack delay will occur between the actual picking attack and the actual sound, and the entire sound will collapse.
Gain: This adjusts the fuzz gain.
The relationship between the GAIN and OVERLOAD sliders allows you to create a wide variety of ‘violent noisy’ sounds by breaking down the power amplifier IC's suppression. The OVERLOAD control will break down and collapse the more you slide it to the left. Try setting the Gain and Overload in opposite directions (raise one slider and lower the other).
Screaming octaves, walls of thick fuzz, the ghost of a guitar sound that returns from the depths of a deadened silence like a zombie. Your equipment is not broken, it is on fire. This moment of burning is the ultimate ecstasy. Enough of the boring stuff.
