The Formula B Elettronica Eighty Master is an organic, dynamic distortion pedal with a high response. It can be used to create a wide range of guitar sounds that were popular during the 1980s.

The Eighty Master is characterized by its rich overtone content and a sound reminiscent of the tone of a stack amp. It is not just distortion. It is an amp-in-a-box that covers everything from plexi-like overdrive to brown high-gain tone.

Use the MODELING control to switch between 80s sounds. This knob works like a Presence control. It adjusts the harmonic content, and turning it clockwise opens up the top end and makes it sparkle. Turning it counter-clockwise thickens the bottom end and gives the tone more punch.

The 50W/100W toggle is another great feature of this pedal. In 50W mode, it is similar to an overdrive, with a dynamic, slightly reduced gain tone that is perfect for single coils. In 100W mode, it is a high-gain mode.

In addition, the COMP switch allows you to switch the compression of the overall distortion sound. With the COMP switch in the center position, the compressor is bypassed, and with the switch in the left position, light compression is applied by an automatic optical circuit. In this mode, the MIDS knob works more clearly when set between 9 and 11 o'clock. When the COMP switch is set to the right position, the most intense compression is applied, resulting in a thick distortion sound.

The Eighty Master operates on a standard center-negative DC 9-18V adapter. Batteries cannot be used.
The current consumption is 11mA. When driven at 18V, the headroom is increased.
