Featuring two 8-inch woofers, coaxial midrange and treble drivers, and a custom Class D 400W amplifier in an isobaric configuration, the Atlas i8 delivers accurate audio reproduction between 35Hz and 20,000Hz at a maximum SPL of 117dB.

A custom digital processing system with an FPGA chip enhances performance, enabling a neutral frequency response and linear phase. The result is an accurate, pinpoint sound and a fatigue-free listening experience. DSP also provides features that make everyday studio work more comfortable.

Isobaric Configuration

The Atlas i8 features two identical 8-inch woofers sealed in an isobaric configuration, one positioned behind the other, moving synchronously. The air pressure from the first woofer is complemented by the movement of the second woofer, creating a sealed volume with an equal pressure level. Normally, achieving lower frequencies requires a larger cabinet volume, but this isobaric design allows for a significant reduction in cabinet volume without sacrificing low-frequency performance. It achieves frequencies down to 35Hz without boost, ensuring minimal distortion and high sound pressure levels.

FIR and IIR Filter Calibration

To achieve a flat, time-aligned frequency response, a proprietary digital processing system operates within an FPGA chip equipped with FIR and IIR filters. This provides a deeply focused stereo image, accurate transients, and fatigue-free studio sessions. The Atlas i8 is calibrated during manufacturing and thoroughly tested to ensure optimal performance. The DSP enables various functions, such as configuring the Atlas i8 to reach deeper bass or applying a low-cut filter to ensure the speaker operates in two-way mode.

Antelope's High-Precision Digital Processing

The pinnacle of Antelope Audio's technology is integrated into the Atlas i8 studio monitor. The highest quality AD/DA converters and proprietary 64-bit Acoustically Focused Clocking technology all operate internally at a 192kHz sample rate, designed to ensure no sound quality is compromised during conversion.

Single-Point Source Midrange and High Frequency

The coaxial design, with the midrange driver and tweeter operating as single-point sources, improves phase coherence, eliminating concerns about comb filtering or high-frequency drop-off, whether the Atlas i8 is placed horizontally or vertically.

Workflow-Enhancing Features

Our proprietary digital signal processing system incorporates various features that significantly enhance studio workflows. In addition to analog XLR/TRS inputs, it also features AES digital input/output, allowing for daisy-chaining of two Atlas i8 speakers. Furthermore, the digital connection bypasses conversion at the interface, effectively reducing unwanted artifacts.

The color display on the back of the Atlas i8 provides easy access to various settings, including Dim, Mute, Volume control, preset saving, EQ adjustment, and multiple speaker modes tailored to different work scenarios. To further enhance stereo imaging and sound balance, the delay offset setting allows you to compensate for distance differences between the sweet spots of two or more monitors as needed.

Furthermore, the user-friendly software control panel provides easy access to all settings, allowing users to maintain an ideal listening position in front of their computer.

Exquisite Cabinet Design

The hand-assembled cabinet is 18mm (approximately 0.71 inches) thick, offering a vibration-free and robust construction. Reinforcements are added throughout the box to reduce resonant frequencies. Its volume and bass reflex port are precisely calculated to perfectly match the characteristics and needs of the two 8-inch woofers, resulting in optimal frequency response and phase. The front-facing bass reflex eliminates limitations when placed near walls or corners. For those seeking versatile installation options, optional mounting plates make wall/ceiling mounting easy, ideal for Surround and Atoms setups.

The Atlas i8's design is finished with a minimalist visual approach in stylish black and vintage green.
