Fredric Effects / NOUVEAU Super Unpleasant Companion

The Fredric Effects NOUVEAU Super Unpleasant Companion is a pedal that combines Shin-Ei's FY-2 and FY-6, the proud vintage fuzzes of Japan, in a housing that retains the look and feel of the era.

The NOUVEAU is slightly more compact than the previous Super Unpleasant Companion.
The last original "FY-2" released under the Kimbara brand was measured and a chassis of exactly the same size was created.
The complete FY-2 and FY-6 circuits are reproduced and can be switched between them.

● Controls
MODE switch: upper position is for FY-2 mode, lower position for FY-6 mode.
The FY-2 mode has a unique sound and a gated fuzz with depth.
BALANCE: Adjusts the volume.
EXPANDER: Adjusts the intensity of the distortion. The overall tonal balance can also be adjusted.
TONE switch: Switch between FY-2 tones.

FY-6 mode - The legendary fuzz sound known as "Super Fuzz".
The switch allows you to switch between a full-range roar and a high, jittery tone.
BALANCE: Adjusts the volume.
EXPANDER: Adjusts the intensity of the distortion.
TONE switch: allows you to switch between FY-6 tones.

The NOUVEAU Super Unpleasant Companion is powered by a standard 9 VDC centre-minus adaptor or a 9 V battery.
*The internal trim pot is for adjustment during production.
