The Fractal Audio Systems “FC” series is a series of dedicated foot controllers designed to maximize the potential of the Axe-Fx III / FM9 / FM3 by providing control to meet the artist's every requirement. Not only does it fully support the various functions of Axe-Fx III, FM9, and FM3, such as switching between Presets and Scenes, direct ON/OFF of effects, looper control, etc., but also, for example, it can be used to switch Presets by “number”, “number in Bank”, “alternating switching between two Presets”, “Preset up/down”, “Preset up/down”, and “Preset down”. The “Stand-In Switch” function allows you to assign the same function to an external switch as to the main unit, allowing you to flexibly respond to the requests of artists regardless of whether you are on stage or recording.

■Changes in MARK II
The MARK II has been updated to provide better visibility of the LCD display.
The LCD display has been increased in size from 1.4″ × 0.5″ (36.0 mm × 12.5 mm) to 1.9″ × 0.7″ (50.0 mm × 17.5 mm).
Extended the height of displayable characters from 4.6 mm to 9.2 mm.
The dimensions and weight of the main unit have not been changed.

■Freely designable “layout” and function expansion with external switches
Eight types of “layouts” with pre-defined functions for each switch are provided by default for immediate use when connected to Axe-Fx III/FM9/FM3. In each layout, an LED ring indicates function and status (lit, half-lit, or unlit), and a mini-display shows text such as the name of the effect or preset.
In addition, the function of each footswitch can be changed instantly. By pressing the switch you want to change and operating it on the Axe-Fx III, FM9, or FM3 side, you can freely customize the function of each footswitch, such as assigning a function to TAP or HOLD, or changing the text on the mini-display. The function of each footswitch can be set for each preset.
In addition, there are four jacks for expression pedals and two jacks for up to four external switches. The use of expression pedals and switches together enables the addition of selectable Presets and Scenes, as well as the control of various functions, including modifiers.

■FASLINK II System
Faster than MIDI and more durable than Ethernet, the FASLINK format allows bi-directional communication between FC and Axe-Fx III / FM9 /FM3 using only one XLR cable.
Furthermore, the FASLINK Thru port allows daisy-chaining* of up to four FC units (up to two FM9/FM3 units, excluding the main unit), including the FC unit directly connected to the Axe-Fx III, with the first FC also receiving power. This allows you to freely add any desired function, such as changing the Preset on the first FC, Scene on the second FC, and so on.
Daisy-chain connection*: A method of connecting multiple electronic devices in series, requiring a power supply (see product specifications) for the second and subsequent FCs.

■Mirroring (master-slave)
Mirroring” allows two FCs to have exactly the same settings and operate both on- and off-stage. This function is equivalent to the common “master-slave” function.

■Robust design to withstand hard tours
The chassis is a powder coated 16 gauge steel chassis with protective end caps, and the SSS footswitch has no mechanical contacts that can cause failure, ensuring durability and quiet operation. The LED ring and LCD display provide excellent visibility in all lighting conditions, from darkness to direct sunlight.

■Continuously evolving foot controller
The FC firmware and settings are integrated into the Axe-Fx III / FM9 / FM3, eliminating the need for separate FC updates and backups. This ensures that the FC, like all Fractal Audio Systems products, will continue to update and evolve for years to come.
