Vandoren / Bb clarinet reed V.12 4

The V.12, nicknamed the Silver Box, is more durable and has a fuller sound than the Traditional (Blue Box). This model is popular with intermediate and advanced players who have become accustomed to playing clarinet. The base of the reed is thicker and the surface has a gentle curve.

■Good with mouthpieces with long facings such as B40 and B44.
■It is often used to start blowing from 3.0 (No. 3).
■Both the heel (base) and tip (tip) are thicker than the blue box.
■The longer palette (the part of the reed with the outer skin shaved off) produces rich overtones.
■Precisely machined and inspected to the nearest 1/100th of a millimetre.
■The reeds are individually packaged in a plastic case and wrapped in film. After opening, reeds should be stored in a reed case (sold separately) to prevent distortion.
