Revv Amplification / Northern Mauler

The Northern Mauler is a distortion pedal that combines a brutal chainsaw sound with a boutique rev amp tone to create a modern, heavy sound.

From the Canadian high-end amp and effect brand Rev Amplification, comes the Northern Mauler, which was sound-engineered by Glenn Fricker, who has worked as a sound engineer for numerous metal bands in Canada and has recently become popular in North America for his reviews of numerous pedals and amps on his YouTube channel ‘SpectreSoundStudios’.

The Northern Mauler combines the violent chainsaw sound of Sweden with the modern high-gain tone of a Rev amp, and is an all-in-one distortion tool suitable for use with clean channels, power amps and recording interfaces.
The Amp circuit recreates the tone of a modern high-gain amp with rev amplification, while the Chainsaw circuit was developed inspired by the tone of famous distortion pedals from the 80s and early 90s.
The two different circuits are in parallel, and by mixing these two tones, a new and extreme distortion sound has been created that has never been heard before.

The three controls on the right (Treble, Mids, Bass) are for the amp circuit, and the two controls on the left (Bite, Growl) are for the chainsaw circuit.
You can create a wide range of unique distortion sounds by using the Blend control to mix the signals from each circuit to your liking.
The GIV'R control adjusts the gain/saturation of the mixed signal from the two circuits.

Despite its sturdy metal casing and eight control knobs, it weighs just 361g. The input and output jacks are all located on the back, so you can use multiple effects units side by side without taking up any extra space. It is powered by a 9V DC power supply (sold separately).
