Premier EXL-1 is a centre block single cutaway hollow model Premier with a 17 inches maple body.

The Premier EXL-1 is the original 17‘ (431.8 mm) wide, 3’ (76.2 mm) thick single cutaway hollowbody Premier EXL-1 now available in Satin Walnut and Satin Honey Blonde.
The original shaped pickguard with Di Angelico character has a 5-ply tortoise shell pattern. The body top and back, headstock and neck are decorated with binding and combined with mother-of-pearl acrylic block position markers.
Body material is spruce top, flame maple sides and back, with wood materials such as maple neck and ovangkol fingerboard.
The neck finish is satin, with a 25.5’ scale and set neck joint.
It also features a dual-action truss rod, which is adjusted on the head side. The distinctive headstock design continues the Diangelico tradition.
The truss rod cover is made of aluminium and has a strong presence inspired by the New York skyscrapers with their Art Deco architecture (e.g. Empire State Building), which were popular in New York around 1930.
The pickup is a floating Duncan-designed mini humbucker on the fingerboard end.
Controls are located on the pickguard, with a 1-volume, 1-tone layout.
Hardware is chrome, with Grover Super Rotomatic tuners with steer-step buttons, Obancor bridge with overall string height adjustment & steer-step trapeze tailpiece.
