■Automatic Keyboard
The GP-9M is equipped with an automatic keyboard that can be used not only at home but also in commercial facilities such as restaurants and hotels. By playing back built-in tunes on the piano itself or SMF data stored on a USB memory device, users can enjoy piano performance with their eyes and ears even when a player is not present. You can also add your favorite piano music data from Roland Cloud (for a fee) and play it back via the original free Roland Piano App application.

■Convenient audio connection
The GP-9M also features an XLR output jack for connection to a concert hall PA system. All GP-9M sounds are sent to the Output output by default, but can be assigned to dry piano sounds, ambience only, or song playback as needed. A microphone input jack is also provided for convenient use when playing along.

■Piano Reality Technology
Roland has long studied the many elements that make the sound and touch of a grand piano possible, including the sound source, keys, pedals, and speakers, as well as their complex interactions.
The GP-9M employs Piano Reality Technology, the culmination of technology developed from this years of research. The GP-9M is the culmination of years of research into this technology, and by making each part work together seamlessly, it is possible to enjoy authentic piano playing with great expressiveness.

■Keyboard touch just like a grand piano
The Piano Reality Hybrid Concert Keyboard is a hybrid keyboard made of wood and resin, with hammer action and an escapement mechanism that reproduces the clicking sensation characteristic of a grand piano. It is also equipped with a keyboard vibration function that reproduces the natural vibrations felt at the fingertips when playing an acoustic grand piano. The keyboard surface is made of a proprietary moisture-absorbent ivory- and ebony-tone material, which not only gives the keyboard a luxurious appearance, but also provides excellent finger comfort and playability. In addition, new sensing technology speeds up the time between keyboard presses and sensor response, enabling more faithful reflection of differences in sound depending on the way the keys are played.
It is also equipped with three high-performance damper/soft/sostenuto pedals. The damper pedal reproduces load changes and continuous detection when depressed, similar to an acoustic grand piano, and can express the subtle echoes of reverberation when half-pedaling. In addition, damper modeling utilizing sensing technology reproduces damper noise as well as the physical noise caused when the pedal is depressed and released quickly. This allows for more advanced practice in controlling noise during pedaling.
