CinePiano is a modern follow-up to the popular Piano in Blue library. Hand-sampled on a concert grand piano at the legendary MGM Scoring Stage at Sony Pictures Studios in Los Angeles, it applies many of the same recording and sampling techniques and the same microphones as Piano in Blue. With four different sound characters, CinePiano will be the most versatile piano library available.

We are recording a stunning 9-foot grand piano on the MGM Scoring Stage at Sony Pictures Studios in Los Angeles. Our goal was to record a detailed piano library on the same scoring stage as our flagship CineSymphony library for seamless integration and to provide four different characters of the piano with various microphones and mixing techniques.

CinePiano
M49 and Room Array were used to provide a standard representation of a grand piano on the scoring stage. Close, room, and surround microphone mixes are available for this patch.

Classical
The Classical mix is a slightly more distant mix with a different combination of microphones to create a realistic concert atmosphere. This is an extraordinary mix, so only this mix is available in this patch.

Cinematic
The Cinematic mix is a very intimate and muted sound, perfect for cinematic textures. This mix is created with a unique microphone set and mixing technique. Because it is a concrete mix, it is the only mix available in this patch.

Rock Studio Grand
Rock Studio Grand is more dependent on mixing techniques to deliver a bright, punchy, edgy sound with a slight distortion on the attack that cuts through the heavier mixes. Because it is a concrete mix, it is the only mix available in this patch.
