Randy's Celeste captures the iconic keyboard sounds heard in the "Harry Potter" movie series; Randy Kerber recreated these unique sounds on the MGM Scoring Stage for this library.
Randy's Celeste brings to your scoring palette the unique, recognizable, and magical sounds featured in many Hollywood blockbusters.
Randy Kerber has had a varied career in the film world as a composer, orchestrator, and keyboardist. The familiar Celeste theme from the John Williams composition "Harry Potter" was performed by Randy Kerber, who developed the unique sound for Celeste, featured not only in "Harry Potter I, II, and III," but also in "Minority Report," "Catch Me If You Can," "The Adventures of Tintin," and "Fire of War."
In Randy's own words.
"I was asked to create a sound with the mysterious personality of Hedwig the Owl from Harry Potter. First, we called up the initialized tone patches on the DX-7 synthesizer to embody the soft character of Celeste. Next, we combined samples of the actual celeste. By modifying these two instruments, we arrived at the unique sound you hear today.
