Randy's Celeste captures the iconic keyboard sounds heard in the Harry Potter film series. Randy Kerber recreated this unique sound on the MGM Scoring Stage for this library.
Randy's Celeste brings the unique, recognizable, magical sounds featured in many Hollywood blockbusters to your scoring palette.
Randy Kerber has a rich career in the film world as a composer, orchestrator, and keyboardist. The familiar celeste theme from the Harry Potter films, composed by John Williams, was performed by Randy Carver, who developed a unique sound for the celeste that was featured in Harry Potter I, II, and III, as well as Minority Report, Catch Me If You Can, The Adventures of Tintin, Fires of War, and more. In Randy's own words, ""I was asked to create a sound with a mysterious personality like Hedwig, the owl from Harry Potter. First, I called up a tone patch initialized with the DX-7 synthesizer to embody the soft character of the celeste. Next, I combined it with an actual celeste sample. By tinkering with these two instruments, I was able to arrive at the unique sound that we have today.
