「MADI」と「AVB」を統合したハーフラック・サイズのスタジオ品質MADI - AVBコンバーター。
■Product Overview
The AVB Tool is a half-rack sized MADI-AVB converter that integrates MADI and the next generation of network audio AVB, with an uncompromising high-end studio quality I/O solution that includes four high-precision microphone preamps, instrument/line level inputs, and headphone and line level outputs.

It can be used as an input/output device for a fully remotely controlled MADI/AVB system, as a converter with a matrix router that relays MADI and AVB systems, and as a compact, high-quality I/O box installed in each room of a studio booth or hall/facility.

The AVB Tool combines the functions of all devices into one, all in a compact size, with a user interface optimized for quick setup and control, convenient remote control functions, and other simple operability that allows you to use it immediately after opening the box. Its advanced design embodies maximum versatility and connectivity, making it a versatile tool that demonstrates unprecedented power in a variety of critical situations.

■Examples of use
MADI - AVB converter
AD/DA converter that adds high-quality mic/instrument/line inputs and monitor outputs to MADI and AVB
Multi-I/O box for placing in zones on an AVB network
Analog, MADI, AVB matrix router

■Inputs and outputs
・4 x XLR/TRS (mic/instrument/line)
・1 x headphone output
・2 x line outputs
・1 x word clock input and output
・1 x MADI coaxial input and output
・1 x MADI optical SFP (optionally available: single-mode or multimode)
・1 x Gigabit Ethernet (802.3 compatible)
・USB (for firmware updates and remote control)
・Power is provided by an external power adapter with a locking connector, and a K-slot lock is provided as a security measure against theft.

■High-grade analog input and output
AVB Tool is the ideal analog converter for handling the most required analog signals in control rooms, recording studios, and on stage. The four XLR/TRS combo inputs have 75 dB of gain remotely controlled in 1 dB steps, +18 dBu input line level sensitivity and switchable high impedance on all channels. In addition, there is a stereo headphone output and two analog line level outputs with switchable reference level of +4 / +19 dBu.

The AVB Tool has the same input stage as the first four channels of the RME 12Mic. It integrates FirefaceUFX II and UFX+ components and new AD converters, supporting switchable high impedance, TRS balanced line level inputs. In addition, the rear panel features two balanced line level outputs for monitoring.

■RME's technology transforming AVB into a standard
The RME AVB Core provides eight streams in AM824 (legacy AVB) or high performance AAF (MILAN compatible) format, with configurable size and format for each stream. A total of 128 audio channels can be sent or received over AVB across all streams.

Many manufacturers currently offer AVB-compatible products, but in some cases the format/stream size is fixed and cannot be connected to AVB equipment from other manufacturers. However, communication between all devices is possible via the AVB Tool.

■More flexible MADI optical terminal
MADI SFP module
The built-in MADI coaxial and the optical MADI input/output that can be added with the MADI SFP module option can be operated independently or redundantly. The secondary MADI terminal is mirrored with the same signal as the MADI coaxial input. If redundancy is not required, the optical MADI module can be used as an independent full-bandwidth MADI input/output with up to 64 channels.

■Quick operation
Direct control of the device status from the front panel encoders and buttons provides intuitive access to all functions. RME's AVB devices can be fully remotely controlled using a web interface over any network link (including Wi-Fi), allowing quick operations such as creating gain groups, switching phantom power, and routing signals to the headphone outputs. The integrated routing matrix allows all analog inputs and all digital signals and AVB streams to be routed directly to the headphone output. This allows for quick troubleshooting while clearly viewing audio signals, clocking, connections, etc.

■SteadyClock FS - Reference-class digital clocking
In digital audio, clock frequency is a key factor because it requires correlation between the audio bits and the reference time axis. However, clock frequencies are not always stable. AVB Tool offers perfect performance with SteadyClock FS, which suppresses jitter values to femtosecond (1 quadrillionth of a second) accuracy, resulting in the lowest clock jitter and the highest jitter tolerance.

All clock modes operate with outstanding performance, and the high-quality analog conversion allows you to monitor the sound as it is, without any coloration. Digital conversion in RME products is performed without any data loss or sound quality degradation, and SteadyClock FS guarantees that the sound image will not deteriorate. With greater depth and a clearer sound image, you can record and mix with precision and accuracy.
