The Surfliner Deluxe takes the Surfliner platform even further with a Guild Floating Vibrato Tailpiece (GFVT), 5-Way switch, roasted maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard. This deluxe model has new features like block fingerboard inlays and matching heads.

The exquisitely offset body shape, inspired by Guild's vintage guitars of the 1960s and 1970s, is made of lightweight poplar, the traditional Surfliner charm, and features a gloss finish and matching head. Guild's first roasted maple neck provides vintage looks, rigidity, and stability. The satin-finished C-shaped 648 mm scale neck and rosewood fingerboard with block inlays give a smooth playing experience.

The Guild Floating Vibrato Tailpiece (GFVT), newly developed for this model, provides a relaxed and comfortable vibrato effect. It has a nylon insert and a tension screw in an easily accessible position for flexible control of bar tension. The "G" is embossed with Guild's DNA for a vintage look.

The HB-2 humbucker in the rear uses an Alnico II magnet to reproduce the rich, warm tone of the humbuckers found in vintage Guild guitars in a standard size. Combined with two DeArmond Aerosonic single-coil tones in the front and middle, this guitar allows for a wide range of sound creation possibilities. In addition, the classic 5-Way switch is used for the first time, allowing intuitive and stress-free switching from rhythm tones to solo tones.

With its modern and cool metallic color, it also features a look that offers vintage appeal and modern nuances simultaneously.

The characteristics of each position are as follows.

1. Bridge? Hum Canceling?　This position has the most "edge" or "bite" and works well with distortion. The HB-2 humbucker has a bold midrange with tight lows and sparkling highs, perfect for solos and rhythm parts.

2. Bridge + Middle ? This position is perfect for all musical genres, blending the warmth and power of the HB-2 with the brilliance of the single coil in the middle.

3. Middle? This position produces a "raw" tone. When played gently, it produces an acoustic tone; when picked firmly or with distortion, it produces a more aggressive and raw tone.

4. middle + neck ? Hum Canceling?　 This position is best for clean tones, especially in fast rhythm parts such as funk music. Adding distortion to this position gives a smoother tone, perfect for singing solos.

5. neck? This position produces a warm, whole tone. It responds quickly to fingerpicking and picking and is perfect for driven and clean tones. It has a jazz-friendly tone that is "smooth and edgy" when driven and works well for soloing in all styles of music.
