Standard gate tools often produce undesirable results, such as ghost notes disappearing no matter how precisely you adjust the threshold or chattering and false positives that repeatedly open and close the gate—tired of tedious, unmusical workflows?

Oxford Drum Gate solves this problem with a fast, logical flow. It delivers the most musical results in the shortest amount of time.
Oxford Drum Gate has intelligent drum hit detection. It performs a proprietary transient detection and then selects which drum hits to keep from among those detected.

DETECTION: Detection.
Reducing the effects of transients in a sound source that contains a mixture of backbeats, ghost notes, cross-stick hits, etc., can be difficult.
With the Oxford Drum Gate, you don't have to worry about it at all! Just click the Snare button to separate each component cleanly.

DECAY
Are you tired of gate behavior that suddenly becomes unnatural? Want to eliminate the effect of fogging on the surroundings while maintaining the natural sound of the toms?
This is very easy to do. Using the selectable decay section, it is possible to process the resonance of each tom in real-time, depending on the strength of each detected drum hit.

LEVELLER: Leveler.
Want to improve the uniformity of the dynamic level of the performance by the drummer?
More substantial main hits and softer background hits. Setting separate target level ranges for these two types of hits can be controlled separately.

MIDI.
Sometimes, you want to maintain the dynamics of the original drum performance when supporting or replacing it with additional drum hits.
This is easily accomplished with Drum Gate's hit detection and MIDI triggering features.

Features
Accurate transient detection and drum type matching make isolating each drum hit from unwanted overtones easy.
Custom profiles can be created to isolate different drum types and correct mismatches between kick, snare, and toms.
Decay curves based on the strength of each drum hit provide consistent coverage reduction, even in strong or weak performances.
The Spectral Decay Editor can quickly clamp and remove the cover while maintaining each drum hit's resonance, rings, and rattles.
Two different targets and AMOUNT controls in the LEVELER function improve the level uniformity of each hit without losing the contrast between solid hits and soft ghost notes.
