Since 1961, the Casino has been Epiphone's legendary best-selling archtop and has been the standard in rock and roll.
When the Casino was first released in 1961, it was just one model in the new Thinline Archtop series, designed and produced in a new factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The factory was shared with Gibson, Epiphone's former rival with whom they had just formed a partnership at the time.
That all changed when Keith Richards used one to record the demo of ""Satisfaction"" for Chess Records in Chicago during The Rolling Stones' 1965 US tour.
Howlin' Wolf used one on his first UK tour for his TV show ""Thank Your Lucky Stars.""
Shortly after, John Lennon and George Harrison of The Beatles bought one for their 1966 world tour, and the rest is history.
