In collaboration with the Gibson Custom Shop, Epiphone has beautifully recreated one of the most important and popular guitar designs in history as an Inspired by Gibson model.
The Epiphone 1961 Les Paul SG Standard pays homage to the legendary original SG.
In 1961, the original Les Paul model shape was discontinued and replaced with an entirely new design known today as the SG (solid guitar).
The two-piece solid mahogany, double-cutaway body is beveled with a custom shop design, and the neck is a one-piece mahogany, slim taper C-shaped neck profile used in the legendary early Les Paul SG models.
The guitar is finished in both looks and practicality, with a long pickguard that mimics the specifications of the past, Gibson BurstBucker humbucking pickups wired with CTS potentiometers and Mallory capacitors, a Graph Tech nut, a Switchcraft output jack and toggle switch, and more.
The tuner knobs feature a historic double-ring design.
It has all the styling and looks of the legendary SG, and comes with a vintage-style hardshell case.
