Studio One was designed by talented German programmers who defined digital mixing. It was developed from the ground up using only the latest technology and modern code based on the knowledge and experience gained from years of digital audio development. It is a next-generation 64-bit digital audio workstation constantly evolving for unparalleled sound quality and an intuitive, speedy music production environment without being bound by history or stereotypes. The efficient single-window interface deploys unlimited tracks, intuitive editing tools, and advanced virtual instruments. Mastering is also available on a single screen. Drag-and-drop operation eliminates complex menu hierarchies, allowing you to focus solely on music production.
Major New Features
Live lyrics display
A new lyrics display feature in performance mode allows scrolling lyrics to be displayed on stage on a computer monitor or tablet. You can adjust the size and placement of the lyrics directly in the Performance View. Lyrics are automatically added to the show when songs are transferred to the show page. Lyrics can also be edited directly on the show page if they need to be adjusted for a live set.
The lyrics display in performance mode can turn your computer, tablet, or display into a prompter, making it ideal for long performances.
Album Mode for Target Loudness
Meet required loudness standards while maintaining complete control over the loudness of album tracks. Since loudness requirements are becoming increasingly important to music producers, Studio One 6.1 adds an Album Mode to the Loudness Optimization section of the Digital Release window on the Project page.
In album mode, loudness is first analyzed on a track-by-track basis. Loudness optimization is applied equally to all tracks so that the relative loudness relationship between tracks is preserved, rather than all tracks in an album being set to the same target loudness.
Create Custom Colors
Control the color of channels, tracks, and events. Use the convenient color picker or numeric input RGB, HSL, or Hex values to change cells to your preferred color and create custom color palettes that can be saved, loaded, and shared via PreSonus Exchange. Also included are presets derived from other DAWs.
Feel free to experiment with custom colors. Changes are fixed only when you click on a cell. Importing a song with a different color will display correctly and not affect the user's color palette.
Synchronization points for events
Audio events and instrument parts can now optionally use variable sync points, allowing additional timing references to be added when transients or peaks are between start and endpoints. Setting sync points couldn't be easier. Snap to a transient within an audio event.
