This model adds a noise gate to the high-gain distortion WURM2. It also has a function to blend in the dry sound. The distortion is based on the metal sound inspired by the famous BOSS HM-2, with the unique essence of KMA added.
Chainsaw tone + wide range of distortion sounds
Of course, you can reproduce chainsaw tones and Swedish death metal sounds, but you can also create a wider range of sounds. The circuit has evolved from the previous distortion and many useful new functions have been added. These functions can be flexibly used with guitars, baritone guitars, basses, synthesizers, etc.

4-band EQ
The original HM-2 has a 2-band EQ, but this unit has added 2 more bands. The range of tones is wider, and you can set the evil distortion more precisely. The EQ is semi-parametric, and you can boost/cut each band with the slider and set the frequency with the pot below it.

EQ Style
This unit has a unique feature: the EQ STYLE switch. In ""HM-II"" mode, you can get the ""chainsaw tone"" unique to the HM-2. In contrast, ""KMA"" mode has a well-balanced EQ, reduces peakiness, and has a slightly wider response. ""BOTH"" doubles both tones, recreating a Swedish death metal sound with enhanced LOW and H-MIDS.

CLIP style
You can choose from three clipping settings for the distortion sound. Si (silicon) is the original HM-2 clipping, and is ideal for singing lead tones with rich harmonics. A-S (asymmetric) is a rough sound with large headroom and less compression. OFF is less compressed and transparent, making it ideal for baritone guitars and basses.

Blend dry sound
You can blend the dry sound with no effect applied to the distortion sound. Simply turn the BLEND control to set how much of the sound that makes use of the nuances of the picking is added to the distortion sound.

Noise gate
High gain distortion is always accompanied by monster noise. To solve this, we have equipped it with a noise gate that operates quickly and accurately. It is easy to use, just set the point where the VCA noise gate starts to apply with the GATE knob. It also supports quick muting without any problems. The decay is also very natural. In addition, the internal DIP switch allows you to set the gate to start before or after the distortion section, or even pre-noise gate.

Pre-Noise Gate
There is an effects loop between the distortion and noise gate sections, so you can insert any fun noise-making pedal in between. You can also use this feature to put the Noise Gate section into your amp's FX-Loop. If you like to experiment with sound design, you can use the Noise Gate in other ways. For example, you can use an external trigger source. The EXT TRIG jack can be connected to the source of your choice.

Input Filter (internal)
Sometimes extreme tone settings can cause feedback that the noise gate can't solve. In that case, turn on the internal INPUT FILTER switch to suppress unwanted high frequencies.

Footswitch Mode
You can choose between two modes for the footswitch operation: independent or sync.

Independent mode: The two footswitches work separately. The TERROR switch turns distortion, and the TAME switch turns noise gate on and off.
Sync mode: Both distortion and noise gate can be turned on and off with the TERROR switch. In addition, in this mode, the noise gate can also be turned on and off at will.
To switch modes, simply press and hold both switches while connecting the pedal to a power supply. Once set, the settings will be remembered even when the power is turned off.

GAIN: Sets the amount of distortion.
MASTER: Sets the overall volume.
GATE: Sets the noise gate threshold.
BLEND: Sets the volume of the dry sound.
CLIP STYLE:
SI (Silicon Diode): Clipping sound of the HM-2.
AS (Asymmetrical): Strong distortion, weak compression.
OFF: Best for bass and baritone guitars.
EQ STYLE:
HM-II: High-mid EQ type of the HM-2. The frequency is fixed.
KMA: KMA's original high-mid EQ. Adjustable frequency.
BOTH: Both EQs are active.
LOW: Active semi-parametric EQ that boosts or cuts the low frequencies. Set the frequency with the pot below the slider. Range is 60-150 Hz, mid point is 90Hz.
L-MID: Active semi-parametric EQ that boosts or cuts the low-mid frequencies. Set the frequency with the pot below the slider. Range is 300-1.05 kHz, mid point is 490Hz.
H-MID: Active semi-parametric EQ that boosts or cuts the high-mid frequencies. Set the frequency with the pot below the slider.
When EQ STYLE is KMA, the frequency is 850 Hz - 3 kHz.
When EQ STYLE is HM-II, the frequency is fixed.
HIGH
Active semi-parametric EQ that boosts or cuts the high frequencies. The pot below the slider sets the frequency: the range is 1.4 - 5 kHz with a mid point at 2 kHz.
