The long friendship between Epiphone and Les Paul (a great guitarist, musician, and inventor!) dates back to 1940.
The young Les Paul worked night after night at the Epiphone workshop in Manhattan, creating ""the Log,"" one of the world's first solid-body electric guitars.
The results of ""the Log"" were later reflected in the development and birth of the Les Paul model, which is still coveted by many guitar players today as the best electric guitar.

The Epiphone Les Paul Standard 50s boasts a full range of specifications, including a gloss-finished mahogany body with a maple top (AAA-grade flame maple veneer on the figured top model), a 50s-shaped mahogany neck with a long neck tenon joint, an Indian laurel fingerboard with classic dish inlays, newly developed vintage deluxe tuners, the well-established Epiphone ProBucker? humbucker, and gold top hat knobs with dial pointers.
