"Mira" is a Spanish word that means "look!" The Mira Optical Compressor creates a studio-grade sound that requires sensitive hearing and feel, and dynamically fascinates the senses.
The Mira is true bypass and has all the controls you'd expect from a studio unit. Tweaking each control provides warm analog compression with pleasing sustain and smooth attack and release.
And for high headroom, the Mira runs at ±15VDC internally.
Extensive studio-grade controls
■ BLEND
Controls the amount of compressed signal mixed with the dry signal.
By mixing the two signals together, you can get extended sustain while maintaining clarity.
■Make-up
You can compensate for the volume dropped by the compressor.
■ Threshold
Sets the volume point at which the compressor kicks in.
This adjusts the intensity of compression.
■Ratio
Sets the compressor ratio (the amount of volume reduction that occurs after the signal exceeds the threshold).
Tweak how the compressor responds when the signal exceeds the set threshold.
■Attack
Adjusts the compressor's initial response, or after the signal exceeds the threshold.
Set a faster attack time if you want to compress the attack immediately.
If you want to express the attack of the original sound, set a slower attack time.
■Release
Adjusts the compressor release time when the signal drops below the threshold.
This allows you to control the sustain.
■ HPF (High Pass Filter)
Use when you want to prevent low frequencies (below 120Hz) from being compressed as well as high frequencies.
This will prevent the bass dynamics of the instrument from being compromised.
This filter is highly detailed and is the most useful option for bass-heavy instruments like bass guitars, and when you want to preserve the bass dynamics of your guitar.
